إِسْرَايءِيلُ

a surname of [the patriarch] Jacob; (Ksh and Bd * and Jel * in ii. 38;) also pronounced إِسْرَايءِلُ, (Ksh and Bd ibid.,) and إِسْرَايءِلُّ, (Ksh ibid.,) and إِسْرَالُ, and إِسْرَايِيلُ. (Bd ibid.) And the name of A certain angel; also pronounced إِسْرَايءِينُ; in which the ن is asserted by Yaakoob to be a substitute for the ل. (TA.) [But the ! is more properly to be regarded as a radical letter.]
